The Message from the Congress Chairman
Distinguished colleagues, esteemed professors, respected researchers, and professionals in the field of laboratory sciences,
It is with great honor that I announce the 17th International and 23rd National Congress on Quality Improvement in Clinical Laboratories, to be held with the scientific theme:
From Precision to Prediction: The Role of the Laboratory in the Future of Health
This congress will take place from 1-4 September, 2026, at the Milad Tower International Convention Center, Tehran.
The congress has been designed and planned with the aim of elucidating the strategic role of medical diagnostic laboratories in the transformation of the health system, from accurate diagnosis toward prediction, decision support, and intelligent interventions.
The scientific themes of the congress reflect a comprehensive and forward-looking spectrum of challenges and opportunities in laboratory sciences. Innovative topics such as artificial intelligence in laboratory diagnostics, evidence-based medicine, intelligent molecular diagnostics, modern virology, the microbiome, molecular biomarkers, standardization, quality improvement, and accreditation occupy a central place in the scientific program, highlighting the decisive role of laboratories in strengthening national and international trust in health outcomes.
Within this framework, the First Extracellular Vesicles Symposium will be held concurrently with the congress as a pioneering scientific event. Focusing on the latest research achievements and diagnostic and therapeutic applications of extracellular vesicles, this symposium will outline new horizons in future medicine, next-generation diagnostics, and personalized medicine, while fostering effective interaction among basic, clinical, and laboratory researchers.
In addition, the Iran Clinical Lab Expo, as the technological and industrial component of this event, will provide a valuable platform for showcasing capabilities, innovations, equipment, and advanced laboratory solutions, thereby creating an effective link between knowledge, technology, and the delivery of standardized, high-quality diagnostic services.
Undoubtedly, medical diagnostic laboratories in Iran have faced numerous challenges in recent years under difficult and complex conditions. Nevertheless, the professional resilience, scientific commitment, and exemplary sense of responsibility of the laboratory community have ensured the continued delivery of accurate, standardized, and reliable diagnostic services—an invaluable asset that plays an undeniable role in safeguarding public health and sustaining the health system, and one that deserves sustained attention, support, and reinforcement at decision-making and policy levels.
It is hoped that this congress, through the active participation of professors, specialists, managers, and industry stakeholders, will provide an effective opportunity for knowledge exchange, the presentation of challenges, collective reflection, and the proposal of practical solutions, and will represent a lasting step toward improving the quality of laboratory services and shaping a smart, sustainable, and science-based future for public health.
