                             In the name of God

Dear colleagues, students, and esteemed researchers,

It is with great pride that I announce the 17th International Congress and 23rd National Congress for the Promotion of Quality in Iran’s Medical Diagnostic Laboratory Services, held under the scientific theme:
From Accuracy to Prediction: The Role of the Laboratory in the Future of Health

I am pleased to inform all those interested and active in the field of Iranian laboratory sciences that this congress will be held from Shahrivar 10–13, 1405 (August 2026) at the Milad Tower International Convention Center in Tehran. It has been designed and planned with the aim of clarifying the strategic role of medical diagnostic laboratories in the transformation of the healthcare system — moving from precise diagnosis toward prediction, intelligent decision-making, and knowledge-based interventions.

The scientific themes of this congress cover a comprehensive and forward-looking range of challenges and opportunities in laboratory sciences. Emerging topics such as artificial intelligence in laboratory diagnostics, evidence-based medicine, intelligent molecular diagnostics, modern virology, the microbiome, molecular biomarkers, standardization, quality improvement, and accreditation highlight the laboratory’s decisive role in building national and international trust in health outcomes.

Given the growing importance of this field, the First Symposium on Extracellular Vesicles will also be held alongside the congress. Focusing on the latest research achievements and the diagnostic and therapeutic applications of extracellular vesicles, this symposium will chart new horizons in the future of medicine, next-generation diagnostics, and personalized medicine, and will foster effective interaction among researchers in basic, clinical, and laboratory sciences.

On the international front, distinguished scientific authorities and experts in laboratory sciences from Canada, Australia, Brazil, Germany, India, Turkey, Tunisia, Nepal, and Taiwan — who have expressed interest in presenting on the congress’s core topics — have been invited. These experts will deliver their presentations online, an approach that extends the boundaries of knowledge and scholarly exchange beyond geographical limitations.

                                                                                        Dr. A.R. Lotfikian
                                                                                    International Secretary
